Emily Albee is a ceramic artist and educator based in Hartford, Connecticut. She received her BFA from the Hartford Art School and her MFA in Ceramics from Georgia State University. Her work explores the mythic—what is deeply felt but not always visible—drawing from creation stories and cultural folklore to reflect on shifting societal values and our relationship to the natural world. Through sculpture and vessel-based forms, she translates imagined and symbolic spaces into tangible objects in clay. Albee currently teaches Ceramics and Sculpture at the University of Connecticut.
